Around Lake Vassetvatnet

This trail starts from the stadium of the Langevåg Sport Association (Langevåg IL) and takes you around Lake Vassetvannet, a nature oasis in Langevåg. There are swimming areas, gapahuk shelters, children’s playgrounds, a frisbee golf course, an outdoor fitness facility, and picnic areas.

The trail follows a well-prepared path around the lake. Begin by walking east from the car park by Langevåg IL’s stadium. Walk across the sports ground towards the lake. Here, you will come across the path/road that will take you around Vassetvatnet. The area is also perfect for cycling (please be respectful of fellow hikers). The trail mostly follows a good-quality road, a gravel footpath, and a shorter section of asphalt. Sula Jeger og Fiskeforening (Sula Hunting and Fishing Association) hires out canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards for free. There is also a barbecue hut which is free to use. Next to the shooting club, Skytterlaget, you will find a quay where wheelchair users can fish.  A gapahuk shelter with a barbecue place in Kaffivika is free to use, and there is a beach with a toilet in Jentavika.  The service building by Langevåg IL’s artificial grass football pitch is also equipped with toilet facilities.

There is a large parking area by Langevåg IL’s stadium and a smaller car park by Vassetvegen Road. The car park by Vassetvegen Road is right next to Jentavika, a swimming area with a lawn, toilet, and beach. You can take the express boat from Ålesund to Lerheimkaia and walk or cycle up to Vassetvatnet. No parking fee applies.
