Svartnakken

This is a nice trail that offers some great views of Julsundet, Gossen, Oterøya. Far away in the west / northwest you can see Ona, Bjørnsund, Bud, etc. The sunsets here are really beautiful! From Gammelsetra you also have a nice view inland towards Tautra, as well as fjords and mountains further in. Between June and July you can spot beautiful butterfly orchids blooming along the way to Svartnakken. Butterfly orchids belong to the orchid family.

Park your car by the old school building in Julsundet (Fanghol). Walk along the walkway in the direction of Molde for about 300 metres following the road to Hola. Follow the gravel road from the information board onwards. After you pass the gate, take the turn to the right and follow the mountain way (Fjellvegen) further up. At the top of the steep hill (the first road crossing) turn left towards Gammelsetra. A few metres before you come to Gammelsetra you will see a path to Svartnakken beginning on the right side. A detour to Gammelsetra with its amazing view is highly recommended. Enjoy the view! The trail further towards Svartnakken follows the ridge up covering some areas of pine forest along the way. Make sure to take some breaks to enjoy the view.
