The starting point of the trail is Hellerøra which lies about 500 m down the toll road in Øvre Kavli. Park your car in Hellerøra, 100 m after the power line. Follow the path to the right in the direction of Litleaksla. The path gradually ascends and gets slightly steeper before the top of Litleaksla. Continue following the ridge. Walk past a cabin and across the marsh. Keep to the right of the cabin at the other end of the marsh and as you walk up the ridge. The final section of the trail towards Storaksla is somewhat steep, but the ridge leading up to the top itself has a rather gentle ascent. Alternative route (marked): Drive up to Øvre Kavli following Heiaveien (toll road) to the car park towards Kavliheian. Follow the path leading up to the summer mountain farms. Then follow the marked path across the river. This way, you will reach Mount Storaksla from the east. This route is shorter and easier. Source:
