Route description
The car park is in front of the community house “Centrum”. From here, walk up the way leading to the former Bremsnes school until you reach the junction in the Lauvhaugen residential area. Turn left at this junction and continue to the next junction, then walk straight ahead onto the Gammelveien road. When you reach Gammelveien 51, you will find yourself at the start of the Stone Age Trail. From here on the trail is wheelchair accessible, and there is a car park for the wheelchair users here. The trail postbox is attached to the fence by the end of the gravel walkway.Does it feel like the rail was too short? If so, you can continue walking along the fence onto the “Folkestien” trail. Follow the green arrows accompanying the nature trail up to the viewing area with a bench offering a panoramic view over the island of Ekkilsøy! Here you will also find another trail postbox installed by the Bremsnestrimmen hiking organisation and their own trail journal. Some sections along the trail can be a bit damp at times.
