The trail to Skårrå is an easy hike for both adults and kids. Most of the trail leads along a forest road. The last 140 metres are covered with gravel and planks. You will have magnificent views on the way up to the top by the lean-to, which is the hiking destination on this route.
Route description
From the parking area at Mork stadium, turn left and follow the main road for about 450 metres. Just after you have passed Morka river, turn left and follow the forest road with signs to Meekknoken. The forest road is usually ploughed until you reach the parking area for the summer trail to Meekknoken. The summer parking area is about 750 metres from the main road.
From here, follow the forest road that has the sign "Stikk UT!" about 1200 metres before the end of the road. From there, turn left and follow the sign to Skårrå and continue 140 metres on the gravel trail, which has wooden planks over wet sections. There are usually tracks to follow even if the road is not ploughed on the way up. At the top, you will find a lean-to and good views of the village. Be aware that it may be slippery in places where the forest road has been ploughed, and on the wooden planks on the final part of the route. We recommend you wear traction cleats on your boots in these areas. You can also follow the trail next to the planks instead.
