Saurdal – Osbrua – Route 51b

This trail runs across a beautiful cultural landscape along Lake Saurdalsvatnet. It enters a protected area which is sheltered from wind (facing south) with characteristic vegetation, consisting of hazel groves, aspen, and tall juniper trees. You can collect hazelnuts along the way. The trail leads to the Osbrua bridge by the Joker store in Syvde.

The trail runs along Lake Saurdalsvatnet. Follow the road from the Saurdalen Valley for about 1 km before it changes to a path. Some sections of the path are a little rocky. When you reach the northern end of Lake Saurdalsvatnet, you can choose to walk over a suspension bridge (N 62`04768 E 005`43655) which will take you to Årøyane and then the farm road to Syvde.

Take the county road from Syvde towards Saurdal. When you reach Lake Saurdalsvatnet (the southern end), turn right at the first junction. You will see a sign by the mailbox with the name and the number of the route. Park your car at the southern end of Lake Saurdalsvatnet, before the third cattle grid.
