Rostolen is a popular tourist destination offering a nice viewing point close to the centre of Aure. From here you will get a great view of the islands of Tustna, Smøla and Hitra, as well as an inland view southeast towards the Trollheimen mountains.
This walk starts in Austli. A couple hundred metres after the start, turn left and follow the path up to the ski trail, then carry on following the ski trail as it swings to the right until you reach Skihytta skiing lodge in Tverrbotn. Walk up towards Skaret from the skiing lodge and follow the marked path to the right of the marsh all the way up to the top.

Turn off the main road in the centre of Aure and follow the way which ends with a car park in Austli.
All year round in Austli. In the summer season you can drive to Tverrbotn via the toll road. Cash payment.
