This hike offers a scenic view of the outer Sunnmøre and the Sunnmørsalpane mountain range. Røddalshornet is probably the only peak in Sande that is suitable for skiing even in late spring, since the snow stays long on the north side of the mountain. The Gurskøy Sports Association (Gurskøy IL) set up a trail post on the peak.
Start walking from the bus stop on the north side of the road near the car park by the illuminated ski trail. Go west towards a small valley that lies on the north side of Røddalshornet. Once you climb up the valley, you will see Røddalshornet up to the left. Walk straight ahead facing the peak, and you will come up the ridge about 50 metres east of the peak. Note that the peak you see from the road is the one preceding Røddalshornet itself.
Leave your car at the car park by the illuminated ski trail.
