This amazing ski trail up on Mount Reitfjellet offers a fantastic view in all directions. The starting point is a museum that is also worth a visit. There are several designated picnic areas along the entire trail. Lake Reitvatnet offers ice fishing opportunities. You can buy a fishing licence at the Tingvoll MX-Sport AS shop.
Route description
There are two possible starting points for this trail. You can either park next to the illuminated ski trail and go up from there or drive up to the museum and start there. Regardless of the starting point, you will end up on the forest road that runs above the museum buildings. After 300–400 metres along the trail, you can decide whether you want to go to the ski lodge, Langdalshytta, in the southern part of the trail. Turn left just before the marshy area for the ski lodge or continue straight ahead for Lake Reitvatnet. You can also get to Langdalshytta by skiing along the other side of the lake.
Access and parking
1. Drive north from the centre of Tingvoll along RV70 in the direction of Kristiansund. Turn right off the main road 200 metres after you pass the 80 km/h speed limit sign. This road will take you to the car park of the illuminated ski trail.
2. Follow RV70 until you see a sign for the Tingvoll Museum at the bus stop, Reitgrenda. Follow that sign for about 1.7 km and you will reach the car park of the Tingvoll Museum.
Park your car either next to the illuminated ski trail or by the Tingvoll Museum (Tingvollia).
