Prestmyra, Frei

Kristiansund

The trail at a glance

This short loop trail covers the flat terrain of Prestmyra. The entire ski trail has now become illuminated. The trail does not require much snow before the snow groomer can drive here. A Stikk Ut Ski postbox is located by the stone bridge where you can also turn off to Sæterbakken (the shooting range). There are very few slopes along this trail, so it is a perfect fit for those who prefer skiing on a flat surface.

Route description

From the southern end of the car park in Prestmyra, go straight ahead to the illuminated ski trail near the signboard. Since this is a loop trail, you can move in both directions, but the most common way is to move clockwise by turning left at the first intersection. Take the right turn at the next intersection (you can turn off here if you want to go to the trail destination “Utsikten”). Follow the sign for Sæterbakken. You will find the Stikk Ut trail postbox at the turn of the ski trail where it goes over a small stone bridge. If you continue skiing for about 200 metres further ahead, you will come to an open and slightly hilly area. It could be nice to take a break here and perhaps jump and play in the snow. The trail continues until you approach the national road again. This is where the trail takes a sharp turn to the right near the pedestrian subway to Storbakken and returns to the car park.

Access and parking

There is a large public car park on both sides of National Road 70 (RV70), Prestmyra. Free parking. From the Krifast road system, follow National Road 70 (RV70) towards Kristiansund. After you have passed Storbakken, you will see a car park on the right side of the road. From the centre of Kristiansund, follow RV70 towards Frei.
