Øverberg – Slivatnet
Vanylven
This easy hiking trail makes its way along Syvdslidane Hill until it reaches Lake Slivatnet. Part of the trail follows a river, which is good for both swimming and fishing. There are many scenic areas where you can pitch a tent along the river, and a gapahuk shelter (N62 01.246 E5 41.915) is also worth a visit.
If Slivatnet is not your final destination, you can walk this route to the lake and back (N62 00.240 E5 42.199).
Follow the gravel road for about 1 km. You will find the remains of summer mountain farms at the end of the road. Continue along the top of a moraine ridge until you reach a junction (N62 01.512 E5 42.050). Turn left and walk down towards the river and the gapahuk (N62 01.246 E5 41.915). Continue along the ski trail and the river until you reach Lake Slivatnet.
Take the county road from Syvde towards Saurdal (6 km). Drive along a municipal road (gravel) for about 2 km in the direction of Øverberg.
Park your car by the ski lodge at the ski resort Øverberg Skisenter. Parking fee for one day is NOK 20.
