This circular trail runs around Lake Sætrevatnet in the Røfsdalen Valley, Syvde. The route mostly follows a good-quality gravel road. There is a Stikk UT trail post by the first picnic area after the bridge at the south end of the lake. If you go to the Stikk UT post and back the same way, the entire hike will be stroller-friendly.
Park your car free of charge at the fenced-in car park at the Sætra farm in Røfsdalen (Røfsdalssætra). Walk along the lake until you reach its south end. Walk over the bridge and up to the first picnic area, where you will find a Stikk UT trail post from the summer of 2021. This is the only picnic area with tables and benches of both wood and stone. From there, it is about the same distance if you return to the car park the same way or take a loop around the lake. The hike there and back is stroller-friendly, while the circular trail around the lake follows a newly marked route in the forest where the path is not clearly defined yet. There are, however, orange marks throughout the forest that show the way.
If you want to take the circular trail, it is important to find the place where it branches off the forest road. Look for a sign down by the hill on the right side of the road that reads “Sætra”. This is where you should turn off the road and walk down into the forest. It is overall easy to walk, but there are some wet sections further down the forest. After you walk across the bridge over the river, you are not far from the car park.
