Myrbua via Gammelsetra in Engdal
Heim
Engdalen is a wonderful hidden spot in Inner Nordmøre. The trail will take you through a beautiful flat valley with a bustling river running along the way, which creates a special atmosphere. The valley is surrounded by steep mountain walls on the sides which create a U-shaped landscape. The hiking trail to Gammelsetra passes through a mix of birch forest, alder forest and well-maintained cultural landscape.
The hike starts from the gravel pit. The trail heads towards the river that runs down the valley. As you pass through the gate, remember to close it properly. From here, just follow the same road all the way up to the Gammelsetra summer mountain farm. Once you reach Gammelsetra, keep to the right side and continue walking down the road for another couple of hundred metres. Here you will see a shed (Myrbua) with the trail postbox attached to it.
Drive along E39 to Engdalen in Halsa municipality, close to the municipal border. Turn off the European Route E39 on the north side of the valley, by the bus shelter to the left of the river (as seen from the bottom up). An asphalt road climbs up a steep hill from the bus shelter on the north side of the valley (as seen from the bottom up). You will pass small white houses before you drive past a farm further up. Continue driving up the road which will turn into a gravel road. Right after the road swings over a small bridge, take the turn to the right at the junction by the red building. Park your car as soon as you see an available parking space.
