Midtvatnet from Bakke

The trail passes through beautiful natural surroundings along the Dønnemselva river and past Lake Bakkvatnet. A well prepared tractor road will take you all the way up, and in the right season you can pick up wild strawberries along the way. 

The trail starts from the information board in Bakke. From there, follow the tractor road along the Dønnemselva river walking up the Bakkdalen valley to Lake Bakkvatnet. It is nice to have a little rest here by the lake before you continue walking up to Lake Midtvatnet. On you way back, take your time to enjoy a great view over the fjord in the direction of Gjemnes, Bergsøya and Frei.

Once you reach Lake Midtvatnet you will see a trail postbox on your left-hand side when you walk up the hill.

Drive along County Road FV666 from Batnfjordsøra in the direction of Angvik. After 7.2 km down this road you will see a turnoff with an information board on your right-hand side. This is where the hike starts. If you are driving from Torvikbukt, follow County Road FV666 in the direction of Batnfjord for 4.4 km until you come to the information board in Bakke.
