Fairly easy trail with a gradual ascend the entire time. You will get a scenic view when you come out of the forest. In summer, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset over the ocean. To make it into a circular route, you can continue further to Vardeheida and go down via Frøystadtoppen or go to Leinehornet and follow the path down from there.
Route description
Start walking from the car park. Walk in the direction you came from along the footpath on the other side of the junction. Follow the signs. When you come to a transformer kiosk, continue up through the forest. Follow the path and the signs. Continue walking as the forest opens up. Parts of the trail cover some rocky areas. You will enjoy an amazing view of the islands of Leinøy, Nerlandsøy, and Bergsøy, as well as Moltu. The rest of the trail covers open terrain. Continue walking along the mountain ridge until you come to Leinemastra. In December, the mast at the mountaintop is lit like a Christmas tree.
