Kjølavatnet

This trail goes along a nice forest road and a path up to Lake Kjølavatnet. You will enjoy quiet surroundings along the way. The trail offers great opportunities for fishing and picking up berries. Park your car and follow the cart track as it swings to the right towards Kjølasetra. Continue up the road which later turns into a path until you reach Lake Kjølavatnet (310 m a.s.l.). Follow the path on the left side of the lake. The path will take you right to the “gapahuk” mountain shelter. Here you can make a fire, cook some food or warm yourself by the fire. It is also possible to stay here overnight. Try your luck in lake fishing!Coordinates:Euref89:North: 6973533East: 425940

Your destination is Strandlandet on the side of Eide. If you are driving from Eide, follow County Road 279 (Fv279) to Strand in the direction of Høgset. Take the first turn to the right after you pass the community centre Strand Grendahus (before the bridge). If you are coming from the direction of Kristiansund, Krifast and Gjemnes, follow County Road 279 (Fv279) to Eide. Continue driving until you reach Herskedal. Take the first turn to the left after you pass a small bridge and see a small sign pointing to Hersedalen. Drive for about 1.6 km from the junction until the road splits. Park your car on the right side of the road. You will see a sign to Kjølavatnet.
