Keipen is a mountain peak on the south side of Gursken with a scenic view over Gursken. You will walk past Lake Middagsvatna where you will find a picnic area and a barbecue place, a perfect spot to grill sausages and rest on your way up to Keipen. The Gursken Sports Association (Gursken IL) has a trail post on Keipen.
The trail starts from the car park at the highest point of Drageskaret. Follow the Langhamrane mountain ridge past Kvilesteinen and between Knottahornet and Svedehornet. Continue walking through the mountain terrain until you see the signs for Keipen and Veten. Turn left. Follow the path on the north side of Lake Langevetevatnet, walk between the two parts of Lake Middagsvatna, and continue east to Keipen. From Keipen, you can follow a path that leads to Torsethornet and continues to Veten. This can be an alternative return route. You will return to the main path at the sign for Keipen and Veten. All these paths are well marked.
Park your car along County Road 61 (FV61), at the highest point of Drageskaret, between Gursken and Larsnes.
