The trail at a glance

This is a relatively easy trail that follows a well-prepared path and is suitable for the whole family.

Route description

As you drive along E 36 past Holmemstranda, you will see a turnoff marked with the sign for Nysetra. Drive up the toll road and park your car at the car park near Nysetra. You will get a great view down from Nysetra. The trail goes along the motor road. Right before the end of the motor road, take the turn to the left onto the path that runs gradually down towards the lake. After this easy hike through the beautiful landscape, you are down by the lake. Teppinga, as it is locally called, is an outflow from Lake Herjevatnet. A new bridge has been built over the river here. Teppinga was earlier used for regulation of the water level in the river. You can take in the view and enjoy the silence of the nature from the “gapahuk” shelter. Teppinga offers fishing opportunities. Float fishing and fly fishing are two angling methods that work well here. You can use the place for a fire to make coffee or grill sausages. The Sandnes and Holm Outdoor Association own a large boathouse just next to Teppinga. There are two boats there that you can use. Half way through on your way back to Nysetra, you can turn off to the left onto an old hiking trail. The trail goes down to Myrsetsetra. Myrsethaugen is a place where you can take a final break and enjoy a great view of Langfjord, Molde and even the open sea when the visibility is good. From there, walk up the path to Nysetra again or continue down to Åfarnes. Source:
