The trail opens as a Stikk UT destination from 23 May.This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Halsa municipality. The trail offers plenty of experiences right from the start. Already on your way up to the Hennadalen valley you will drive past the ancient charcoal pit from the 1300s. Later on, you will come across the bridge over the Hennaelva river where there are many potholes. The next sight on your way is Hennasetra. This summer mountain farm was in operation until the 1960s. Today the area is used as grazing land for farm animals. Finally, there is a fantastic view waiting for you at the mountain top.
After you have walked through the summer mountain farm, you will pass the turnaround at the end of the road. From there, follow the path straight ahead for about 20 m. You will then see a signpost at the split of the road. Take the left fork towards Mount Hennafjellet and follow the path marked with blue signs as it climbs uphill. After about 100 m you will walk past a cabin on your right side and then another cabin later on. When you reach the top of the hill at Storskardet, the way will split again. Follow the sign to Mount Hennafjellet here. You will not find the trail postbox at the highest point of the mountain — it is installed at a lower top which is closest to Mount Tustnafjella.
