Gullsteinvollen is one of the cabins owned by the Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association along the Fjordruta route. You will find the cabin in an idyllic location up in the Gullsteindalen valley. It will take you about one hour to walk along the tractor road up to the cabin. There is not much climbing involved, so the trail will be achievable for the majority of people.
Route description
Follow the signage from the car park all the way to the cabin.
Gullsteinvollen
Access and parking
Follow the Rv680 road across Tustna in Aure municipality. About 700 metres away from the Gullstein church in the direction of Kristiansund you will see a marked car park at the starting point of the trail.
An alternative route would be to turn off the main road near Barskaret to the east of Leira and drive along the tractor road until you reach the marked car park.
At the starting point of the trail in Gullstein there is a small car park. The owner of a little meadow, which lies 20 metres northwest of the car park on the same side of the national road, says that it is OK to park on the meadow when the weather is dry. This is obviously done on your own responsibility.
