This is a short and steep trail. First part of the trail passes through an amazing forest with tall and powerful spruce trees and a soft carpet of moss underneath your feet. Some sections are covered with beautiful flowers. The trail will give your muscles a bit of work to do. Up at the top of Mount Bjergje you will get a fantastic view all over Visnes and Averøya, as well as out to the Kornstad Fjord towards Vevang and the Atlantic Road.
Follow the tractor road which is easily seen up towards the spruce forest and to the foothills of Bjergje. In summer you can see cows and some other cattle grazing in the area. A well defined path climbs steeply further up the rich green spruce forest. Close to the end of the spruce forest you will walk through a wooden gate. The path continues upwards. Carry on following this path until it flattens out and you approach the foothills of Visnes limestone quarry. The path splits just before the area with some fallen trees. Take the path that goes to the right. Here you will see an orange mark on a tree trunk. Follow the path up to the top. At the top of Bjergje you will find a trail postbox with a journal (255 m a.s.l.). Enjoy the fantastic view over Visnes and Averøya, as well as out to the Kornstad Fjord towards Vevang.
Take National Road 64 (RV64) in the direction of Vevang and the Atlantic Road from the centre of Eide. Drive to Visnes. Park your car on the left side of the road at the bottom of the hill as you come to Visnes, more specifically Linset. Right after the national road crosses the river there is a turnoff to the left, and this is a common parking area for the mountain-goers.
From Fræna or Averøy: Follow National Road 64 (RV64) in the direction of Eide. Drive to Visnes. Drive through almost the entire 60 km/h speed zone. This is a common parking area for the mountain-goers.

This is a trail that you can walk almost all year round. We recommend using crampons during the periods with a lot of ice on the surface.
The trail destination is located near Visnes Kalk, a large open-cast mining area.
