This is a nice and easy trail along a forest road that will take you from Åndal in southern Fræna to Åndalssetra mountain summer farm. The trail is gradually ascending all the way up, but it is easy to walk. You can also cycle all the way down to Kringstad to the west of Molde, if you are ready to carry you bicycle for a little while. We will come back to that trail.In Åndalssetra you will find a spacious “gapahuk” shelter with tables, grill pot and a place to make a fire. The shelter is fenced in and open to public, so everyone can enjoy it, according to one of the landowners we have talked to. It is nice and cosy here when it is windy or rainy outside.
Turn off the national road between Aureosen and Jendem — you will see a sign to Åndal. A gravel road takes you all the way up to the starting point. The way further to Åndalssetra is a toll road and you can also drive there.
The trail starts in Åndal. Drive through the gate and park your car there. There is not too much parking space available, but it is enough for several cars. From here, simply follow the forest road as it meanders through the forest until you reach the farm.
